Lives Apart
We are not together, yet we cannot be fully apart
People, land and sea between us, yet still connected in our heart.
Perhaps because such is the human soul, it is split in parts?
I am not here, nor there, I am always in flight.
Perhaps it is only possible to remain together
When we both know who we are and why we are here.
When we are both able to maintain our presence long engough
To comprehend why we had to live this life apart.
